The Orange Float appears in the field in groups of two or three. In the darkness, it morphs into the Ruby Eye. Several of these guard the main path leading to the back area of the Catacombs and must be fought in order to proceed forward.
The normal attack is a butting attack on all characters grouped closed together. Overrun is a piercing attack in which it charges through a character or characters in a line, with a chance of knockdown. It can also use Explosion to drop a bomb on a character or characters standing behind it.
The Orange Float uses a similar attack set to its Ruby Eye counterpart, but it is more dangerous, with stronger attack power and defense. The charging Overrun attack can deal a lot of damage, particularly if it then runs up on a character and attacks them from behind. If your characters' normal attacks aren't getting the job done, try hitting it repeatedly with Special Attacks, or lure it to the darkness in order to morph it into a Ruby Eye. March is now available and she can be a great help by using her Aurora Curtain skill to mitigate the damage from these opponents. Viola can mark them for damage with Hawk Eye and if both Salsa and March are in the party, they can quickly build up a lot of Echoes.
In Encore Mode, these opponents can quickly do a lot of damage to the party. If a Guard is missed or March's Aurora Curtain protection is broken, don't hesitate to heal using Frederic's Spirits Pathway, Viola's Heal Arrow, or just with items.
- The Orange Float/Ruby Eye is the only light/dark enemy combination that morphs between two different forms that are palette swaps of each other.
