The Flamea is a monster battled in the Celesta Forest in the World of Eternal Sonata.

The Flamea appears alone, or in groups of two or three in battle in the Celesta Forest. In the darkness it morphs into the White Pearl.

The normal attack is a stabbing attack with its pointed front end. It will often use Chill Vortex, a slow attack on all at melee range that carries a chance of inflicting Passive status, as well as a strong chance of knockdown. If it is not able to reach a target before the end of its turn, it may use Power Blaze, which increases its attack power. It may then follow this up with Icy Breath, a powerful distance breath attack on all in range.

Encountering a Flamea in the Field

Allegretto encounters a Flamea while exploring the Celesta Forest.

The attack pattern of the Flamea is a lot like the Viege encountered just a little earlier in the Mandolin Church Catacombs. Its attacks are generally slow and easy to Guard against and while its HP is somewhat high, it can still usually be taken out in one or two turns with powerful normal attacks followed by a Special. Take extra caution if two or three of them group around the entire party, but otherwise just standard tactics to defeat them. A wide range of characters is available to use at this point and no special tactics are required for battling this monster.

  • In the PlayStation 3 version of Eternal Sonata, the amount of EXP granted for defeating this opponent was somewhat decreased and its HP was slightly decreased.
